I'm going on RCCL Liberty of the Seas next year, and I was wondering?

if when u order room service for dinner is it the same menu in the dining room. Like can u order lobster on the night they have lobster?

Answer :
no. I was on the same ship last summer. The room service menu s the same for everyday of the cruise. They have normal things on it like sandwiches and stuff like that (mostly lunch things). The food is still good, though.. but the service is very slow. Expect up to a 30min wait for your food. It is probably quicker to walk up to the buffet and grap what evers up there!

hope i helped :)
have fun

Answer :
No, its a set menu that dosn't change. You can get hamburgers, turkey sandwiches, cookies, pizza, milk, sodas, caesar salads, stuff like that. Its better for breakfast really. We always got the turkey sandwiches and cookies as a midnight snack...before we hit the casino ; )

Answer :
No. There is a room service menu to order from. It is fine for breakfast but not good for dinner. If you do not want to dress for the dining room there are other buffet pl;aces that are very good.

Question about Liberty of the Seas Cruise.....?

Am I able to bring my own water bottles on the boat? I went on a cruise last year with Carnival and we were allowed to bring water bottles and 1 bottle of wine. Do the same rules apply to RCCL? This will be my first time cruising with RCCL and I also wanted to know if anyone has any suggestions on what some fun things we can do (I personally think I will get bored by the 5th day) Thanks

Answer :
Yes you can bring bottled water but you CANNOT bring wine. Royal Caribbean's policy is you cannot bring any alcoholic beverage on board at any time. A few years ago they allowed one bottle of wine per adult at the departure port but they have now changed that policy.

I just cruised on the Liberty in November and you will find many fun things to do. The ship has a pedestrian mall down its center and its great there for people watching, shopping, eating and having a drink. The ship has a rock climbing wall, an ice skating rink, a basketball court, and a mini-golf course. And it also has the surfing simulator called the FloRider. All of these activities are free. There will also be a free ice show, like the Ice Capades, several times during the week and the performers are all former Olympic skaters; the show is fantastic and should not be missed. If you are old enough and like to gamble there is a casino. There is also a karaoke place on deck 3 and a karaoke bar . The ship has a disco that opens late at night and its also has free admission. There are three pools and several hot tubs and a huge gym right on the front of the ship; its free also.

Take a look at the ships features here: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruis…

Answer :
Yes, you can bring some water bottles on board in your luggage.

As far as being bored on the ship, you will have so many things to choose from you probably won't get to do everything you want! Beside the usual cruise activities, you can go ice skating, rock climbing, play miniature golf and or visit their beautiful spa. I also love the "Johnny Rockets" burger place, it's a lot of fun and the food is great!

This is a beautiful ship and you're going to have a blast!

Answer :
You can bring water bottles no prob. Be careful with the wine, they almost never find them but if they do... they can even deny you to travel. Never heard of anyone being denied to travel, but it's in black and white that they can. Also, CCL allow 1 bottle per every 21 y.o traveling. Not sure about RCCL. Hope I helped a bit.

Answer :
Yes, you can bring water bottles and one bottle of wine per person. Royal Caribbean has plenty of activities on the ship. Try ice skating and rock wall climbing!

Hope I helped!

I see.what if I wait last minute will I get good deals?

Answer :
I very much doubt you'll find anything for that price in July on Royal; it's high season [even though it's also hurricane season!]. September or October you might be able to find a fare that low, but Royal isn't the cheapest cruise out there. You MAY be able to find something on Carnival nearer that price, but, again, it's high season, so it's not that likely.

Prices won't vary that much from one agency to another, although you will get different perks which may or may not be a deal for you. Are you aware of all the choices you'll need to make before you can book a cruise? These will all affect the price, e.g. cabin location, date of sailing, how old the ship is, type of cabin, etc., etc. If not, then you'll need to do some research [your library or bookstore has books on cruising and on Caribbean ports of call] before you begin to work with a travel agent to actually book the cruise.

Some tips: Don't use cruise air. Don't use cruise port transfers. Consider trip insurance. Carefully consider whether you can do port excursions on your own or not. Get to your port of departure the day before your cruise. If you and your friend are underage, he/she will need a notarized letter of permission from both parents before departure.

Answer :
No, Im sorry..The best I got was $791 on the 7/25 cruise. If you want a super deal, you would need to take the same cruise in september. They start at $454 per person. Please click link for the details.
http://vacationstogo.com/ticker.cfm

You can take a 7-night Carnival Liberty cruise to the Caribbean in July starting at $659 on 7/3

Sign up, its free!!

Hope I helped!

Answer :
I suggest you meet with a travel agent! I am NOT a travel agent, but always book everything through mine, and she always gets me the lowest possible prices -- at least the lowest advertised, and often even a bit lower than that. A travel agent who books a lot of cruises can help get you booked on the cruise that best meets your budget, your interests, and your schedule. You should know that each cruise company has a slightly different "personality" and usual passenger group --- from the traditional and formal to the laid-back, from the young families to the elderly passengers to the party-hearty types. What you might like I might find horrible, and vice versa.

I'm going on a royal caribbean cruise in less than a month?

I'm 15 and soon I'll be going on liberty of the seas. I'm really excited because last time I went I was 13 and I didn't hang out at the fuel or any of that teen stuff, and at some time there was a gang of ~15-17yrs old that in the elevator with me and one said I should hang out with them sometime. Well, I was kind of intimidated since they all knew each other and were older, so I just stayed with my parents all week

Well, this time I don't want to screw it up. I'm just so excited it's like I'm going to burst xD I've been only once to the fuel (near the end of the cruise) and there was like 3 people dancing awkwardly so I left

Anyways, I'm wondering, how is it usually there for teens?

Any info helps ^^

Answer :
Awesome!! Well i went on a royal carribean cruise on thanksgiving week and the teen club there is called Optix. It was sooo much fun! You don't need to hang there all the time , but definitely go on the first night and at least a little bit the other days so you can make friends and meet up with them. Also just saying the dance parties on this one were much cooler than the one you just described ... Just dont worry You'll make tons of friends and will have tons of fun no matter what:)
Also Im almost 15 :)

Answer :
There is cute guys on the ship for sure! You'll have a great time. I don't see many teens around but eventually if you hang out at the pool you will.

Royal caribbean fuel for teens?

I'm going on a cruise in 1 week (:D!!!!) on liberty of the seas and I'm wondering at what time do teens usually come at night at the fuel. I don't want to come too early and be like the only one, and I don't want to be the last one and that everyone knows each other already. Also, is there some sort of activity for teens meeting with each other (in the 15-17 category) or do they usually meet at the club a night? I'm asking because I don't want to waste my cruise playing games during the day when I could go outside and stuff. So I'll just be hanging out at night but if everyone knows eachother already it'll be awkward... am I clear? xd

Thx!

Kyle: obviously true haha. I guess I'm so excited that I'm nervous i'll screw anything up and be disappointed

Answer :
Fuel is open till 2am.

Ages 15 - 17

The teen program isn't some structured set of classes or rules. Royal Caribbean knows you're almost an adult, and it's your vacation too. So Royal Caribbean gives you the freedom you deserve. You can join events all day, or come and go as you want. And there are two great places where you can get away from it all. The Living Room is a laid-back place you can just hang with your new friends. And Fuel is the place where the party is. Open 'til 2 a.m., you can dance, listen to music, or just hang out there.

Hours
Activities are scheduled throughout the day and early evening. The Teen Center is open from 10:30 p.m. - 2:00 a.m. each evening. Teens are welcome to come and hang out and join in activities, make new friends, and dance or just listen to music

Activities Include:

Hmmm, the girls or the boys? Who's going to "bring it" to the Battle of the Sexes?
Drop in, hang ten, catch a wave on the FlowRider.
Scratch, spin and mix with the masters at DJ 101 for teens.
Dodgeball is on! Do you have what it takes to be the last one standing?
Start perfecting your game face now! There's Blackjack and No Limit Poker at the Teen Casino.
Are you a closet comedian? The next "dream girl"? Flaunt it at open Mic Night.
From figure eights to free-styling, the ice-skating rink is yours on all Voyager and Freedom ships!
Watch your fave flicks while playing in the pool. Life is good at the Dive-In Movie and Pool Party.
Get a special behind-the-scenes look with a teens-only Sneak Peek Backstage.
The unsung guitar guru in the group has a place to shine at the Unplugged Jam Sessions.
The wall of fame, or the wall of shame? Are you up for the tall challenge of the Rockwall Climbing Competition?
Who's the next Royal Caribbean Idol? Take to the stage on Karaoke night. It may be you!

Does the USA suffer because immigrants run to the USA instead of staying to improve their native countries?

Does it really benefit the USA and the cause of freedom and liberty for all men everywhere that the USA has become a beleaguered island of liberty and prosperity in a sea of large and small bankrupted and hostile totalitarian dictatorships dominating most of the rest of the planet because the USA has become a haven for millions of immigrants who are basically, fundamentally too cowardly to remain in their own native countries, fight to make their own native countries truly free and then work to make their own native countries prosperous?

Doesn't this constant influx of foreign cowards into the USA weaken the USA while strengthening USA-hating dictatorships everywhere else, who solidify their dictatorships by dumping their surplus poor and political opponents on America?

"They only deserve freedom who are willing to fight for it."

Additional Details

I can't believe how the lame-o liberals can only recite the liberal talking points about how immigrants built America, blah, blah, blah, totally oblivious to, or more probably deliberately ignoring, the FACT that the immigrants who come here now are nothing like the immigrants who came here 100 or 200 years ago. Immigrants used to come here to be Americans above everything else; now immigrants come here to just build little versions of the countries they came from, they want to take all the benefits of being Americans without BEING Americans or even learning the language of the USA -- ENGLISH.

Every liberal answer to this question only showcased how tragically ignorant, or more likely deliberately and cunningly deceptive and misleading, liberals are about modern immigration.

The HUGE difference: immigrants USED TO come to the USA LEGALLY and ready and willing to ASSIMILATE, while immigrants now don't care about being legal and they sure don't want to leave the old country, the old ways and the old language behind; they have no desire to ASSIMILATE.

And you stupid, stupid liberals couldn't care less.

Answer :
Yes.
It used to be people came to this country to contribute, they came with skills and education and they assimilated into American culture. They learned English and followed our laws. they made America better.
Today however, immigrants have nothing to contribute, no skills, no education. They refuse to assimilate. They refuse to learn English. They refuse to follow our laws.
They come here to take advantage of our kindness. Not to become Americans but to become foreigners in America.
They have ruined their homelands, and have no respect for their country or ours, and no respect for themselves and are ruining America.
Kick the illegals out.
Sneaking into my country and breaking American laws is an INVASION.
They should be treated like invaders.

Answer :
So, Republicans go in other countries, mess up the place or install said totalitarian dictators and then they expect the people to stay and clean up the messes that they made?

Bad form, Republicans, bad form indeed.

Answer :
Why stay home and develop your own brand of liberal socialist communistic country, when just over the border it's waiting for you. Who is eddie schults and what is a cnn?

Answer :
Don't forget that the great USA is a country formed by immigrants since it's beginning days.

Answer :
wow your stupid, they come to America because they cant live in their country, their government is messed up. If they try to fight they will die, you think they want to leave their families to go to a country where they don't have family? They do it because they have too, so their family can have a better life. But some just come because they are running from the law. others come for the right reason. If you have ever been to their country you would know. It takes bravely to come to America, some die trying. Your not a coward if your looking for a better life for your family. Just step into their shoes.. What would you do if your government didn't care, you had no food or a job?

What brilliant, wealthy person has donated cameras & fees to develop & copy photos of the dead in haiti?

(i tried to choose the category here on yanswers pertaining to "health," "mental," but there is no category here about mental health. this is an emotional mental health issue, but i put it into "politics" because so many of the people that i refer to in the question are very concerned with their image of being "politically correct")...

on the day following the major earthquake in haiti, i saw on the news the burial procedure for the dead. to the best of my knowledge, it has not changed. i saw truckloads of corpses being buried in mass graves, but it was pointed out that no one was taking pictures of those that died so that their families could identify them.

when the tsunami hit sri lanka, all dead were photographed before they were laid to rest in the mass grave pits. that seems very human to me. would you not want to know if your brother or child was among the dead?

so since there are so many wealthy, liberal actors in hollywood (who are so quick to get heard in front of a camera as to politics), how come they haven't donated CAMERAS and the means to pay for film development and processing enough copies of pictures of the dead, to be distributed all over haiti so that those that are alive may properly identify their family members and friends to bring closure to their misery? last i heard, kodak still manufactures and sells disposable film cameras... so does fuji, in case the company NAME makes a difference...

why hasn't bill gates, a man that had a net worth 15 years ago of $78 BILLION dollars, donated enough DIGITAL cameras, SD RAM cards, photo printers, and basic computers so that the living that are physically able and willing to get this done can take pictures of the dead before they become unidentifiable skeletons?

i also thought about mr. obama doing it, since there is no end to the number of woes that humanity suffers that HE (who walketh upon the water) can solve! i mean, since he hosts 2 parties in the white house each week and has played golf now--since he becomes "exhausted"--far more times than GWB played golf in 8 years as the president, said on camera the other day that he intends to "do something" about the poverty in haiti. so,

maybe mr. obama, who accepted the nobel peace prize not for anything he ever DID, but for what he WILL DO in the future (along with the dollar value of $250,000 given to the winner) and a wealthy buddy of his, al gore, who also accepted HIS nobel peace prize for making the movie "an inconvenient truth," all about climate change due to human activity (which of course probably caused the earthquake, ha ha ha), could get together via flying in their big, jumbo jets to copenhagen, or, why not bali or some other exotic, relaxing place in the south seas (???) to figure out a way that the army corps of engineers or the marines could unbury the recent dead, to take photos of them, so that the basic human emotional need of knowing if your loved ones are alive, are injured, or are dead, could be GIVEN to these people of haiti, who generally live on less than $2.00 a day.

has any "concerned" person or group of people (or company, like kodak or fuji, who have laid off basic workers but still pay their executives 6 or 7-figure incomes and give them many benefits (such as private gulfstream jets, stock options, and so on) who live on far more than $2 a day, begun the process of getting cameras, etc. into haiti?

i want to know who has had that brilliant idea and is implementing it as of today, january 19, 2010? what's in it for them?

thank you to the loyal american members of our armed forces for calming down the chaos of this catastrophe and for getting food and water and medical care to ALL in haiti that need help! you go, miss liberty!

rb: you can be sure that i know how wretched this country is, what with the rampant corruption that causes skinny, miserable people that rob and loot. no one in chicago with a mind wants to even TALK to a haitian!

i don't think you understood my Q. i said that someone should be contributing cameras and the means to reproduce photos of the dead, for distribution all about the country so that relatives and friends can identify the dead rather than wonder for the rest of their lives what happened to them.

i didn't mean that someone who is wealthy should go there to stand around, taking pictures. please re-read the Q.

Answer :
Lots of people are taking pictures. Anyone with any sense is staying out of Haiti since it's a wretched and dangerous place, but whoever is left is taking pictures when they have the time. When they're not worried about getting food, water, and sanitary conditions. Why do you want some wealthy genius out there taking pictures? Man, that's elitist. Anybody can take a good photo.

Royal Caribbean Cruise to Hati in March...?

I am booked on a cruise to Hati, Jamaica and some other place in March on the Liberty of the Seas and I have a quick question. What happens if there are still aftershocks while we are on the boat in Hati? I have always wanted to go to Hati and that was the main reason I picked this cruise in Dec. but now I am a little worried. thanks for any suggestions

Answer :
If you have always wanted to see Haiti, you will be disappointed. The only place that Royal Caribbean goes is to a private part of the island called Laberdee. It is completely secluded, and you will have no chance to see the sights, the people, the culture, or anything else.

Answer :
Considering the bad press that Royal Caribbean Cruises are getting at present plus the number of passengers that are refusing to go ashore at this private beach following the earthquake and some organizations openly condemning the company for continuing to call at the resort saying that the company is being insensitive. The feeling in the industry is that these calls will be curtailed rather than court further public displeasure..

Answer :
Chances of aftershocks that much later are extremely remote. If they happen and you are on land you will, of course, feel it. If you are on the ship, the ship will simply ride any waves created. I really don't think you have anything to worry about!

Answer :
Aftershocks that long afterwards is extremely rare. In fact, I'd guess that the experts would say it was a new quake.

Where the ship stops in Haiti is a Barry long way from where the quakes occurred.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Answer :
Not to worry. You won't really be "in" Haiti - the cruise line has a private, remote area that it stops at and you won't be going beyond its boundaries. It's similar to other lines' private islands.

Why does the U.S.A risk its self by support Isreal ?

LOOOOOOOOOOOONG before 911 ,israel was one of the FIRST who carried TERRORIST attacks against USA???

First, was when the israeli secret service agents in Egypt planted & detonated BOMBS in us & uk offices in Egypt ,JUST to spoil relation btw Egypt & USA/UK ?!
source:http://www.answers.com/topic/lavon-affai…

Second was even worst, the BOMBING of the USS LIBERTY nearly "unarmed" navy (40 MILLION$) ship in the Mediterranean sea for NO REASON at all when 3 usa FLAGS was hovering over the Liberty?!),
killing 34 US sailors
& injuring 173
& even shooting the life rafts in an attack that lasted about 1 hour on the defenseless ship by israeli fighters & torpedo boats!!!
,then when us fighters was deployed to help the liberty,
the israeli forces suddenly STOPED the attack & israel told usa "sorry,it was a mistake"??!!!
source:
http://www.ussliberty.org/report/report.…

If u add to those 2 terrorist attacks, the great HATE for usa in the world for blindly supporting the israeli regime & the bad us reputation in most of the Arab&Islamic world which is VERY important for american interest,

So,WHY usa risk its own interest in the world to support a regime who committed such deliberate Terrorist attacks on usa for several times?

you guys are taking the medias biased viw, the only reason 9/11 happned is because of our support of isreal which is commiting war crimes against pali. if some one came and kicked you out your house, would you just peacefully leave, go watch peace war and propganda on youtube...

Answer :
Israel has been a most valuable ally and friend despite some propaganda stories some of which have been mentioned in your essay above. They have rendered invaluable help over the years in thwarting Islamist attacks on the west in general and the United States in particular.
As for a popularity contest in the Arab and Islamic world, we are hated there for what we are. How dare we support freedom for all and voting rights for women.

Answer :
You are so misinformed. It appears that you have been reading Palestinian propaganda. You should ask yourself why a people that hate so much are the people you would follow. This reflects on you and not them. Find one people on this planet that hates more than Palestinians then ask yourself if you have the same hate against anyone. If not, these are not your people or ones you should listen to for their opinion of others. God Bless.

Answer :
You forget, we now know what it is like to be attacked by terrorists. And you laughed, cheered and celebrated.

USA, UK, Germany, Turkey, India, Canada, China and Czech Republic, are a few Israeli allies.

What country do you think the USA should support in the region above Israel?

America is motivated by the sincere conviction that democracy, free-market economy, free press, and Western-styled civil rights optimize the symbiosis between government and people and leads to stability. Israel is the only regime in its region that possesses these qualities, and therefore American support of Israel demonstrates our commitment to these values and furthermore serves as means of projecting our values into a distant sector of the world.

IOW, it's about OUR Values.

Answer :
This propaganda is juvenile and simply way over your head.

The only link that worked was the last one and it looks like the work of a ten year old. Unlike what it said, the Marines were "denied to have live ammunition" is absolutely silly and takes someone not aware of the Marines or America in the least. The all had live ammunition on their belts and didn't want the Muslims to see ammunition hanging out of guns since they were being fought by Christians and it wouldn't look like a peace keeping force.

It was NEVER claimed to be TNT. In the English spoken language, many times a blast will be referred to as "equivalent" to so many tons of TNT. So this article that claims the "official version" still states 2,000 pounds of TNT.

Talk about being so wrong, they can't even lie right. It was the force of 12,000 pounds of TNT, which is 6 times what the article claimed. It was a thermobaric device consisting of bottled propane, butane, or acetylene.

And then they tried to invoke the "proof" of Brig. Gen. Benton Parton about the Murrah building bombing in Oklahoma City couldn't be brought down by Ryder truck of fertilizer. First off, his name is Partin and not Parton. He's a 74 year old kook that concluded the Murrah bombing was "leftists" conducting a "psycho-political operation going on at the present time against the 'Christian Right' bogeyman." The payoff, Partin insisted, was a propaganda victory for "a world commonwealth of independent states" plotting to "criminalize the patriotic support of Constitutional rights." He hasn't been in the military for over 30 years. He "proved" nothing as the grand jury dismissed his claim and the FBI wouldn't allow him to see any samples from their lab. He also claimed that federal agents used explosives to breach the Davidian compound in Waco - a charge for which there is no evidence. He also said TWA Flight 800 was hit by a surface-to-air missile in New York.

Also the RDX called a "rag" bomb... that has only had that tag assigned to it by this very article. No other article refers to RDX as a "rag bomb" except those using this article as a reference. And no, there is no such thing as an "enhanced" RDX that Israel uses. Only Palestinians use that routinely. "It is a very powerful explosive," Abu Dejana, a leading Palestinian missile producer, said. "We use it for missile warheads and for explosive devices."

The "enhancement?" >> He said Hamas then added shrapnel to intensify the lethality of the missile. "We use pins, nails and pieces of metal, which increase the blast," Abu Dejana said.

Sweetie... you've been duped!

Romeo and Juliet Question: What does the following conversation between Romeo and Benvolio reveal about Romeo?

I need to know what this conversation reveals about Romeo. Only this conversation, no other aspect of the story. I need to write an essay about it and I don't understand it at all. Thanks in advance for any and every answer.

BENVOLIO

Good-morrow, cousin.

ROMEO

Is the day so young?

BENVOLIO

But new struck nine.

ROMEO

Ay me! sad hours seem long.
Was that my father that went hence so fast?

BENVOLIO

It was. What sadness lengthens Romeo's hours?

ROMEO

Not having that, which, having, makes them short.

BENVOLIO

In love?

ROMEO

Out--

BENVOLIO

Of love?

ROMEO

Out of her favour, where I am in love.

BENVOLIO

Alas, that love, so gentle in his view,
Should be so tyrannous and rough in proof!

ROMEO

Alas, that love, whose view is muffled still,
Should, without eyes, see pathways to his will!
Where shall we dine? O me! What fray was here?
Yet tell me not, for I have heard it all.
Here's much to do with hate, but more with love.
Why, then, O brawling love! O loving hate!
O any thing, of nothing first create!
O heavy lightness! serious vanity!
Mis-shapen chaos of well-seeming forms!
Feather of lead, bright smoke, cold fire,
sick health!
Still-waking sleep, that is not what it is!
This love feel I, that feel no love in this.
Dost thou not laugh?

BENVOLIO

No, coz, I rather weep.

ROMEO

Good heart, at what?

BENVOLIO

At thy good heart's oppression.

ROMEO

Why, such is love's transgression.
Griefs of mine own lie heavy in my breast,
Which thou wilt propagate, to have it prest
With more of thine: this love that thou hast shown
Doth add more grief to too much of mine own.
Love is a smoke raised with the fume of sighs;
Being purged, a fire sparkling in lovers' eyes;
Being vex'd a sea nourish'd with lovers' tears:
What is it else? a madness most discreet,
A choking gall and a preserving sweet.
Farewell, my coz.

BENVOLIO

Soft! I will go along;
An if you leave me so, you do me wrong.

ROMEO

Tut, I have lost myself; I am not here;
This is not Romeo, he's some other where.

BENVOLIO

Tell me in sadness, who is that you love.

ROMEO

What, shall I groan and tell thee?

BENVOLIO

Groan! why, no.
But sadly tell me who.

ROMEO

Bid a sick man in sadness make his will:
Ah, word ill urged to one that is so ill!
In sadness, cousin, I do love a woman.

BENVOLIO

I aim'd so near, when I supposed you loved.

ROMEO

A right good mark-man! And she's fair I love.

BENVOLIO

A right fair mark, fair coz, is soonest hit.

ROMEO

Well, in that hit you miss: she'll not be hit
With Cupid's arrow; she hath Dian's wit;
And, in strong proof of chastity well arm'd,
From love's weak childish bow she lives unharm'd.
She will not stay the siege of loving terms,
Nor bide the encounter of assailing eyes,
Nor ope her lap to saint-seducing gold:
O, she is rich in beauty, only poor,
That when she dies with beauty dies her store.

BENVOLIO

Then she hath sworn that she will still live chaste?

ROMEO

She hath, and in that sparing makes huge waste,
For beauty starved with her severity
Cuts beauty off from all posterity.
She is too fair, too wise, wisely too fair,
To merit bliss by making me despair:
She hath forsworn to love, and in that vow
Do I live dead that live to tell it now.

BENVOLIO

Be ruled by me, forget to think of her.

ROMEO

O, teach me how I should forget to think.

BENVOLIO

By giving liberty unto thine eyes;
Examine other beauties.

ROMEO

'Tis the way
To call hers exquisite, in question more:
These happy masks that kiss fair ladies' brows
Being black put us in mind they hide the fair;
He that is strucken blind cannot forget
The precious treasure of his eyesight lost:
Show me a mistress that is passing fair,
What doth her beauty serve, but as a note
Where I may read who pass'd that passing fair?
Farewell: thou canst not teach me to forget.

BENVOLIO

I'll pay that doctrine, or else die in debt.

Answer :
Romeo is upset, sad. He is also in love. Basically, I'd say this all means Romeo is lovesick, and a hopeless romantic.

Would girls go out with a guy like me? read profile?

ok, im not that good at expressing my feelings to people due to aspergers but it doesnt mean i dont have any but to help mke express them i find songs on YT that suit that emotion and send it to a friend ie if im happy or want to show how much friendship means to me id send them a song that shows that like this song:

Don't go changing, rearranging
Don't go changing, rearranging
Hold on to a love sensation
If you ever go away
That would be my darkest day

We've been drawn together by love's chemistry
I was born to be by your side sure as the river meets the sea
We've only known each other for a little while, but you're my destiny

I would move all heaven and earth just to set you free
In lover's liberty, inject the chemistry
That's gonna move you, never gonna loose you

[Chorus]
Don't go changing, rearranging
Hold on to a love sensation
If you ever go away
That would be my darkest day

Lately I've been seeing a little doubt in your eyes
You used to call me everyday to say the things to keep me satisfied

I would move all heaven and earth just to set you free
In lover's liberty, inject the chemistry
That's gonna move you, never gonna loose you

[Chorus]
Don't go changing, rearranging
Hold on to a love sensation
If you ever go away
That would be my darkest day
Don't go changing, rearranging
Hold on to a love sensation
That's a power energy that only flows from you to me

I would move all heaven and earth just to set you free
In lover's liberty, inject the chemistry
That's gonna move you, never gonna loose you

[Chorus]
Don't go changing, rearranging
Hold on to a love sensation
If you ever go away
That would be my darkest day
Don't go changing, rearranging
Hold on to a love sensation
That's a power energy that only flows from you to me
Don't go changing, rearranging
Hold on to a love sensation
If you ever go away
That would be my darkest day

i sent this one last night to 2 close friends who i dont want to lose cos then id have no one left at all

would girls prefer a song from anywhere as long as it desrcibes the feelings of a guy or would they like it to be their own words (if the guy can do that)?

Additional Details

alina what if the guy has aspergers and cant tell anyone to their faces how he feels? cos i cant do that at all besides it the thought of it that counts some might make their own song for it buit im crap at making up songs like that

Answer :
m in a situation that i can not answer ur Question :( but consider me in ur list or same category :( i dont send songs like this but yes Sometimes i do this wen m unable to show them how i feel... but guess wat they dont realize wat m trying to express then wats the use?

cheers

Answer :
heh, well...... i would rather the guy just tell me to my face how he feels, lyrics you can give to ANYONE and all you have to do is copy and paste. As for writing/ reading a poem that is better than lyrics of someone elses song.

Answer :
Your not on your own about not being able to express your feelings their are loads of people like that aspergers or not, I think you are under estimating yourself you manage to find these heart felt songs and understand them enough to know that its what you are trying to say, you could use the words but maybe shuffle them round abit to make them more yours? nothing wrong with pinching the odd line from places to get your message across. Don't try so hard (I mean that in the nicest possible way) xx

Answer :
i think u better write sum on ur own

but ther
wud b some girlss
who wud
respect ur
drawback and end
up being yours

SO ITS BETTER TO WAIT FOR THAT PERSON.....

Which cruise ship is better: Caribbean Princess or Liberty of the Seas?

Which cruise ship is better: Caribbean Princess or Liberty of the Seas?

Answer :
Caribbean Princess all the way! It's newer, has more amenities, cabins are bigger, and food is 10 times better than Royal Caribbean.

Answer :
Well, the ships are similar but the Caribbean Princess has had a refurb in 2009. So, you would be getting a nice fresh ship. I would select the Caribbean Princess.
he 116,000-ton Caribbean Princess was specially designed for Caribbean cruising with 880 balcony staterooms and decks filled with amenities and entertainment. Passengers can relax at any one of the four pools, enjoy a massage at the Lotus Spa or bid on fine artwork at an art auction. Sports-minded guests can take advantage of the Princess Links putting green and golf simulator, multi-purpose sports court and state-of-the-art fitness center. Entertainment venues include Movies Under the Stars, three show lounges, the nautical-themed Wheelhouse Bar and Skywalkers Nightclub, which is suspended 16 decks above sea. A huge youth center offers indoor and outdoor play areas, a kids-only splash pool and Off Limits teen center. Multiple dining rooms, Sabatinis Trattoria, Crown Grill, a hamburger grill, a poolside pizzeria, an ice cream bar plus a 24-hour buffet/bistro and room service provide ‘round the clock meals and snacks. Guests can also dine with the ship's chef at The Chef's Table. Adults can also relax at the Sanctuary, an adults-only retreat.

Hope I helped!

Can I wear dressy shorts on Royal Caribbean?

Going on Liberty Of The Seas in May 2010 and I am not really a 'dress' or 'fancy pants' sort of woman. I have heard that the main dining room doesn't allow guests wearing shorts in. How strict is this? I don't mean day/pool shorts, I mean nice classy tailored shorts.
Will I be turned away to the buffet cart?!

Answer :
The dress code will probably vary from one ship or cruise line to another. Outside of the dining rooms the typical attire is shorts, t-shirts, and flip-flops or sandals. In the dining rooms however, the dress code is slacks, skirts, or dresses for the ladies, and slacks (like dockers or nicer) and a collared shirt for the men. Not all cruise ships enforce their dress policies though. Some are more lenient than others.

I'm not sure where they draw the line as far as what's considered appropriate or inappropriate when it comes to "fancy shorts".

I think if you're having some doubts about whether it's appropriate, you should error on the safe side. I recommend packing a pair of nice dress slacks just in case.

I think formal occassions are a bit ridiculous. I call formal wear "Snob Attire". But come on, it can be fun sometimes! You're out in public, after the cruise, chances are the other passengers will never see you again, so why not make a scene? Live it up. Be the one who turns everybody's head when you walk into the room! Even if you don't normally enjoy wearing "snob attire", why not just drab things up for a night or two, and just have fun with it? (If you're brave and daring, you could do the whole Ms. Gabore or Gloria Swanson routine;, walk in there in a really fancy dress, nose held high, and refer to everyone as "Dahlink!!!!" It could be fun!)

Hope you have a wonderful trip!

ANswer :
Shorts, of any kind, are not allowed in the dining room past 6 PM. You will need to wear nice slacks and tops, or a casual dress. I've just returned from a Royal Caribbean cruise, and I found that most people wore outfits that I considered dressy.
I don't believe that you can wear shorts in the buffet in the evening.
On formal evenings, if you do not want to get dressed up, you can dress casually, and go to the buffet.

Answer :
i think that at dinner you will have to wear a dress or skirt. i am going on a royal caribbean cruise in march and i just had to buy 3 dresses and some tanks to go with a denim skirt. but for the lunch/breakfast i know (from carnival cruise experience) there will be no dress code because people just wear what they wear out on the ship and to the ports of call. (PS: will you go in the teen clubs if you are that age? haha.) http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;…

have funn on your cruisee!!

Answer :
No shorts or tank tops allowed in dining rooms in the evening. In the buffet you may wear anything except swimwear without a cover up.I just went on Mariner of the Seas in January. I wore shorts in the buffet at night, as did some others. No problem. have fun!

Answer :
Very probably! Shorts of any cut or style or length are not acceptable in the dining room in the evening. Take a skirt that goes with the tops you were planning, and you'll be just fine.

Answer :
Not everyone follows the rules ..I have seen jeans and t-shirts.
You (everyone) should follow the guidelines so the staff and passengers are not put in an embarrassing situation.
Have a great cruise vacation.

Answer :
Shorts are shorts. If you don't want to meet the basic requirements of the dining room, then eat where you can wear whatever such as at the buffet or order room service.

To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof.

Answer :
Search "Glenn Beck" on Youtube and take your pick of lies. They're all entertaining. My favorite is the one where he tries to call Rockefeller Center a communist establishment that was secretly designed and built by communists. Hysterical.

By a STRANGE coincidence, that's the building where Keith Olbermann works. Its okay, Glenn, keep letting out your anger at the big bad liberal world....no one is seriously listening to you.

Answer :
You mean the Glenn Beck that said on his show

"And I am telling you Global Warming is a nonevent, a manufactured crisis and a total scam."

http://www.glennbeck.com/content/article…

And then just this weekend in USA Weekend said

"You’d be an idiot not to notice the temperature change,” he says. He also says there’s a legit case that global warming has, at least in part, been caused by mankind. He has tried to do his part by buying a home with a “green” design and using energy-saving products. "

http://www.usaweekend.com/article/201002…

One of the above statements is a lie for sure....is it the statement he made on his show pandering to his target audience or his statements made in a mainstream magazine where he also says " I still don’t consider myself a political commentator. I’m a pop culture commentator at heart.” ?

You be the judge...

Answer :
beck is a rabble rouser. Either he's extremely limited in his critical reading skills or he's rewriting the Constitution. Its a shame when someone with limited intelligence, like Beck, is a pundit, when we have Rhodes Scholars like Rachel Maddow who actually read and glean information. Beck's elementary school style is similar to that of palin. All talk and no substance.

Answer :
It's a Republic if you can keep it....BFranklin let's just hope people stop misinterpreting it, and plagiarizing it. for their monetary gain..it's a sacred document...the constitution is a federal document not a twelve step program

Answer :
Glenn Beck calls progressives what they are, and he is nice enough not to race bait, when the defenition of progressive liberals scum is rooted in racism.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progressive…

Answer :
Glen Beck is a moron. He is the perfect key-note speaker for cpac. Not even Palin is lame enough for the task.

Answer :
You leftists just cant get over the General Welfare clause can you ? Oh look the Constitution says i can get free stuff whoopee !!

Answer :
My friend, you can't see the forest for the trees. The Constitution provides the means to protect us from bad guys. Yep, that's exactly the job of government. Beck was talking about the constitution as a whole. Not each individual part of the Constitution. Much like saying the Only job of a car is to move us, and you say what about the radio or the heater .....

Answer :
Beck is just a sellout. Presumably he started out as a conspiracy loving libertarian who accused both all government of corruption, hypocrisy and scandal. But in spirit with capitalism i suppose, he compromised his ideals to channel those criticisms into a one sided attack. He spent a lifetime convincing people not to trust the government - it wasn't a far leap to revise his observations making them Republican friendly and focus on those ooohh evil liberals..

Now he just goes deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole breaking further from reality.

There are a small section of his viewers who can take it with a grain of salt and apply his rhetoric to government at large, but the hypnotic message of liberals are evil and dumb and treacherous etc, etc still wears off on them.. Meanwhile the majority section of viewers take him at face value.

Thank you for posting this. For the people who actually read your comments (what 1%?) it was probably a first.

English help please

could you please do 1/4-1/2 page analysis on this poem for me im really buzy and have no time for it and its due tonight:

By purple hills and opalescent sea
And sunlit leagues of plain they lived, and they
Were summery-hearted all, and life was gay,
And peace was theirs, and love, and liberty.
And when the clarion sounded suddenly,
They went, a rollicking band of boys at play
Tilted at doom, and there, at Anzac Bay,
Died...but they taught the world what men they be.

And Anzac now is an enchanted shore;
A tragic splendor, and a holy name;
A deed eternity will still acclaim;
A loss that crowns the victories of yore;
A glittering golden dome for evermore
Shining above the minarets of fame.

Is my poem okay?

Hello, i am actually a gr.7 12 year old boy. I just wondering, is my poem okay? My class had to write a poem explaining how another poet was right. The another poet wrote a poem called "Forecast." and it is about how our generaration is lazy and we don't get out to see the natures beauty. So what i had to write, was a poem on how he is right on how the outside is a great place to be, but i also included on how our genaration is not that lazy. So please read it and give me some feed back. ty BY THE WAY I DID NOT CHECK GRAMMAR IN THIS POEM

Here is my poem:

Nature has a unique beauty
That changes from time to time
You can’t just vision it
You must feel it from your heart
To understand the true meaning and form of art

This world has many seasons
That twist and turn like gears
They improve the outside beauty
Because that’s its duty
By bringing the cold, the hot, and the excitement

Today is the day
I spring out of my dark humid cave
To venture the fascinating seasons that face me
In front of me lays a strong wooden boarded fence
Once I pass it, my wonder world will begin
But before I go I must tell you
Our generation is not lazy
We do go outside, experiencing the beauty of nature
It’s just some of us that have different atmospheres
Sure, we have things that grab onto us and make us stay inside
But some of us, not all of us
Experience what’s beyond that wooden boarded fence

Now I go and grasp a handle that turns open the fence
I see and wonder what the forecast will be
Just about as the barricaded wall opens up
I clench my eyes from fear
Then suddenly a patch of warm wind
Sweeps up from the north and tickles me with sensation

This is Summer I now see
The sizzling alluring sun warms my hand like a barbeque
I hear nature buzz as little yellow creatures soar beneath my eyes
This hot dry region is the best season to make me wonder
Why stay in a lonely dark cave
When we can race across cold waters that shoot from the ground
See alien bug creatures that lure our backyard
Tan our skins with a fluorescent metal cover
Or swing to the top of the playground and over the hill
This season is got to be the most fun of the “funnest”
What more could I do, catch a ball, lay on the beach, swim in the liberty seas
I do so many things, I play sports just
We are not lazy; we go outside on a hot humid day
And copy the famous summer Olympic athletes.
But what about winter

As I take a step down my porch, a few months have past.
I don’t notice small little glaciers falling from the heavens
I see bold, rich, fluorescent, and antique colors that fill the backyard
I see tons of symbols from the Canada flag slowly fall and glide onto a pile
Branches slowly start to shake and plants decaying
Shadows start to grow and life starts to sway
Animals now sleeping
Not a sound or a peep
Everyone knows fall has begun.
Even though it’s quiet we need to still get out
We can fall in the leaves, still swing in the playground.
We can still swim in the liberty seas
Not all things have to happen in the summer

Next seasons follow through winter
Cold winds swipe down my back to send me a chilling ache
Don’t be fear of the cold, fun can still happen
Even athletes are enjoying the winter wonder land
Go ahead make me a bald headed figure that is bodied with 3 round balls.
Rub against the soft marshmallow snow creating what appears to be an angel
Stir the chocolate to make a warm delicious coco-delight.
Bobsleigh down icy driveways and crash into piles of white soft blankets
But the best experience is getting your bright red tongue stuck onto a pole or icicle
Once again, this generation is not always lazy
Some of us copy what we see on CTV Olympics

Nature isn’t over yet, there is still yet one more season
This one is the time of year blossoms bloom,
This is the year dark purple and bright red explode into the atmosphere
You see farmers picking them off the greenish trees.
Every season there is a unique thing to do
That let’s us get active to take a break from screen time.
Why think our generation is lazy
Our generation is just growing with technology
We are not just hiding in our dark caves
Take back from what you said
Cause here I go, outside to play

Answer :
It's long! That's for sure. It didn't lure me on past the first few lines, so I skipped to the last verse, and it didn't get any better, so I stopped reading again. Sorry! But you are only 12, and the fact that you are writing poetry is great. You should get better and better. Keep on keeping on.

Answer :
A writers age DOESN'T MATTER IS THE CONTENT OF HIS PLAY THAT MUST MATTER.
Your really great at writing. Remember that theres people in this world that wont like your poem. For me it was amazing! I loved how you put it together.
KEEP GOING NO MATTER WHAT.

What should I bring on the Liberty Of The Seas and also the plane ride to Miami?

In about two months my family and I going on the Liberty Of The Seas this is our first time going on Royal Caribbean and I really excited. I have already found a digital camera that takes both photos and film clips but what else so I bring with me? I won't be getting my passport until next week but I like to take my time with shopping and getting my hair done for the trip. I know that crazy because the trip is two months away be I like to ready but I don't what else to bring with on the trip and the plane ride to Miami. What I should do on the plane ride to Miami? I am flying Delta airlines(New Delta) and they are putting AVOD in all the planes including the plane I will be on the Airbus a320. My flight going there is about two pushing three hours but my flight is three hours. I will be not taking my laptop but will posting pictures and videos on youtube and facebook will get back. What I should bring with me?

Answer :
I have been on about 20 cruises, many with Royal Caribbean, ( cruised on the Liberty last Nov) and here's what I suggest based on my experiences:

Always pack your passport and cruise documents in your carry on bag ONLY.

The dress on ship is casual all day until 6:00PM, so take:
-swim wear (at least 2),
-shorts, tank tops and "T's"
-sandals,
-beach shoes,
-your snorkel equipment if you have it,
-sun glasses and sun screen,
-lotions,
-a cap or big hat for the sun,
-a book if you are a reader,
-your music player,
-sneakers and clothes to workout in if you like to use the gym,
-good walking shoes,
-your camera, and
-other personal toiletries including tooth paste, mouth wash or lotions.

Your cabin will have towels and soap provided, including pool and beach towels, and a hair dryer. It will also have a generic hair shampoo so you do not need to bring that unless you like a specific brand.

After 6:00 PM they request that you wear "sports or resort casual" attire. That's attire that you would expect a person to wear in a business office, (like a bank employee), shirt with a collar, slacks, skirt, blouse, etc. You can still wear shorts and swim wear in the pools and spas but not in public areas like dining rooms and restaurants, show rooms, bars, casino, etc. Don't over pack , take clothes that you can mix and match tops and bottoms and plan to wear each piece twice. If you are going to the Caribbean you will likely be in shorts and/or swim wear most of every day so evening clothes don't usually get much wear.

Your cruise will have a formal night or two when you can wear your best stuff and get pictures taken, and maybe meet the ship’s Captain. The formal nights are REQUESTED not required attire. You will not be denied entry to the main dining room if you decide not to dress up, as long as you are at least sports casual. But most people do dress up. A gown or party dress for women and a suit or tux for men. Some people dress up both formal nights, some don't. We always take the formal stuff off after dinner and a photo or two and go back to casual stuff.

- Its best to pack using soft-sided luggage because with space limited in your cabin it fits under the beds better if its not hard sided luggage. Pack using the vacuum clothing bags (about $20 for 3 at Target) so that you can get more in your bag AND so that if the TSA at the airport opens your bag they can see what's inside without rummaging through your things. Take a small carry-on bag for the last night of the cruise. On the last evening you will be required to put your luggage outside your cabin by about 2:00 AM so that they can start taking it down to the lower deck for offloading the next morning. So you will need a small bag for your toiletries and your clothes that you sleep in.

- If you are taking your cell phone, MP3 player or other item that needs to be plugged in take an extension cord as the plugs in the cabin are generally not in the best places and there are usually only one or two.

- Take a small bottle of hand sanitizer and/or hand-wipes. There are generally sanitizer dispensers at the entrances of restaurants, the buffets and dining room, but some times the are not there or not working. The sanitizer helps prevent the spread of the Norwalk Virus that sometimes occur on cruise ships.

-If you plan to get into the pools or hot tub as soon as you get on ship (they will be open), bring those clothes in your carry on bag; you other luggage may not get to your cabin until much later in the afternoon.

- Take a can of air freshener for your cabin bathroom. The bathrooms do not have exhaust fans.

- Take a few zip lock bags of various sizes; they always come in handy.

- Take some one dollar bills (also maybe a few $5's) for tipping the porters in the airport, at the pier (they do not work for the ship), and they will come in handy in port stops for buying small items in the markets and at vendor stands; especially bartering places.

Take your music player so you can listen while on the plane.

Answer :
I'm going on a cruise in a week, I'll be traveling on the Norwegian Cruise Line, and I am also going to the Caribbean. I am soo excited.
I'm only bringing one pair of jeans with me because it's going to be hot there.
I'm taking like five bathing suits
and like four dresses because you can't wear shorts or jeans in the dining room after six at night.
Of course i'm taking my camera, cell phone, and all that stuff.
Take a pair of sneakers and flipflops and maybe bring a couple sweaters because it's might be windy at night.

on the plane, i am bringing a purse as a carry-on.
in it, i'm bringing my ipods, i have two in case on dies, gum, and some other candy or something, my camera , cellphone etc. i am probably going to bring a couple magazines, and a wordsearch book or a puzzle book or something. also, im going to put a pair of shorts in my purse as well because when i leave home, i will be wearing pants because its cold, and when i get there, it will be hot so ill change into shorts . hope this helped.

Answer :
lucky you !

i would take:
*passport
*tickets
*money
*lots of sun cream
*after sun incase you get burnt (hopefully you wont need it)
*sunglasses
*underwear
*2 swimsuits (whilst you wear one the other can be drying)
*a towel (unless they provide them)
*i would take about 5 complete outfits including a formalish dress that you can wear in the evenings because cruises usually have a formal evening type thing and if you have room *something fancy dress just in case- again cruises often have fancy dress.
*the main items of clothing would be denium shorts/skirt and light loose shirts or tank tops.
*cardigans and jumpers because it is likely to be cooler in the evenings.
*shoes, flip flops :)

Is the arcade on liberty of the seas for kids only or can adults play as well?

I love video games but I am in my twenties. Is arcade only for kids or can young adults can in their to. How much should enter in the arcade kiosks?

Answer :
I was just on the Liberty in November 09 and yes adults can play the video games. They use a system where you purchase a card to play the video games from a machine. Its self service right in the game room. Its like a power card at Dave and Buster where you put $10.00 on the card and play until you use up all of the money. Most games are between $.75 and $1.50 to play, depending on the game.

ADDED NOTE: You actually use your cruise card to activate each game, but after you go to a machine to authorize a dollar amount to be charged to your cruise card.

What are the best parties and contest to attend on the Liberty of seas and are they free?

I ak wondering what are the best parties to and contests to attend on liberty of the seas

Answer :
All the parties sponsored by the cruise line are free. You pay for any alcohol you consume, and sodas, too, if you didn't buy the soda package.
The other person who answered is right- there are some parties/meetings that are only for certain groups, but the details of those are usually not made public.
There will be a list of all activities daily. It is delivered to your room every morning. Check that out and see which are best for you. Attend everything! It's all really fun!

Answer :
I haven't been on Liberty of the Seas, but I have been on other Royal Caribbean cruises. I'm not sure what you mean by "parties". There are some special cocktail parties for particular groups of people, and others are not invited. Otherwise people make their own parties, and if it's at a lounge, you pay for what you buy. Nothing you consume at a lounge is free.
There are some real fun adult contests, which can become hillarious. Those are free.
Games such as bingo, or other betting games are of course not free.
Shows, including the ice shows; movies, and sports activities, and the fitness center are free.
There are enough free things to do for you to have a wonderful time.

Has anyone ever crusied on royal caribbean before...?

and if you have can you explain to me what the ocean view looks like on the liberty of the seas... and if you have pictures that would be great....?...are the cabin's really small?...and if so how small are they?....

Answer :
Yes, I have I am a very experienced traveler with Royal caribbean. In fact, I was on the sister ship of the Liberty of the Seas.

First off the cabins are tiny depending on what you get. If you get an interior or a ocean view they are. The bathroom is like if you walk in you can do everything without having to take a step. The cabin is tiny it has enough room though for you to move around, but who really cares about the cabins, because you rarely are in there.

The view of the ocean is spectacular! Pictures are awesome. I can't really explain it because it is hard to put into details. It is one of those things you have to find out for yourself. :)

I love these ships though! :) :) :) :)

Answer :
i dont have any pictures but the views are amazing and no the cabins are not small.. we could comfertabally fit 5 people in one cabin to sleep

LoL I love this one. Was Jefferson speaking of liberal men?

"Timid men prefer the calm of despotism to the tempestuous sea of liberty."-Thomas Jefferson

Answer :
Timidity comes in all political forms. Jefferson was a classical liberal, the meaning has changed over time.

Answer :
Yes, he was. Jefferson is the first liberal. It's the Bill of Rights that have caused conservatives grief from almost the founding of our nation. The conservatives by definition are "timid men" who resist change. They resisted the end of slavery, the woman's vote, civil rights, gay rights, Medicare, good benefits for veterans, government investments in rural areas, government programs to help poor kids, and so on. Conservatives are timid men. Why else do you think they're so afraid that they need to stock up on guns. I live in a big city, and I'm not afraid of all the diversity. Conservatives often live in a little towns with people just like themselves, but they're still "timid men."

Answer :
"Despotism is a form of government by a single authority, either an individual (Despot), or tightly knit group, which rules with absolute political power."

No, like modern day tea-baggers I do NOT think Jefferson was speaking of liberal Democrats! Though I/we admire Jefferson as the author of the Declaration of Independence, I/we should NOT condone his stance on slavery and being the Despot of his own plantation, Monticello, fathering babies out of wedlock with his female slaves, giving a new meaning to the term "founding father," being "liberal" with his morality and ethics but "conservative" with just how progressive his Republican thinking should be as to having other human beings subjugated as his own personal property, instead of as equal citizens enjoying "the [same] tempestuous sea of liberty" he and his Caucasian compatriot counterparts did!

Answer :
Ok, those who answered and said Jefferson was a liberal were correct but it is a mere technicality. Jefferson was a liberal....BACK IN 1776! By today's standards, he would have been considered a reactionary conservative and would roll over in his grave if he were here today to see what this country has become! The kind of liberal that Jefferson was...is called a "Classical Liberal"....liberals today are usually "Progressive Liberals". Technically, all conservatives are Classical Liberals.

Those who are timid are the progressive liberals. These apologists who travel about the world seeking forgiveness from our enemies while simultaneously stifling freedom and muzzling the self-expression of the people on the home front, prefer the comfort and job security of despotism rather than the insecurity and election inconveniences that are provided by liberty. That is what makes these men timid, because they are afraid of liberty and how it helps the people to topple despots...and I am not just referring to Liberal Democrats...I'm also referring to neoconservatives who have completely bastardized the very concepts of the conservative movement. I hope this answers your question.

Answer :
Quite the contrary, Thomas Jefferson was a liberal in every sense of the word.

"The legitimate powers of government extend only to such acts as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods, or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." Thomas Jefferson

"I trust that there is not a young man now living in the United States who will not die a Unitarian." Thomas Jefferson

"Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear."
Thomas Jefferson

"But a short time elapsed after the death of the great reformer of the Jewish religion, before his principles were departed from by those who professed to be his special servants, and perverted into an engine for enslaving mankind, and aggrandizing their oppressors in Church and State."
Thomas Jefferson (in a letter to S. Kercheval, 1810)

Answer :
Isn't it funny how liberals flip flop when it comes to our founding fathers?

One minute they were rich, slave owning, land stealing, indian slaughtering, aristocratic white men who didn't want to pay their taxes and founded this nation on racism and white supremacy. But they were "liberals" the next.

Answer :
Sadly no. He was talking about the vast majority of men. We are living under tyranny, but nobody is willing to do anything about it. They all say just "vote". Voting won't solve our problems, but doing what is necessary takes real courage, and nobody is stepping up to do it.

Answer :
Yes. He climbed into a time machine, rode forward to 2010, studied liberal men of the 21st century, then climbed back in his time machine, and wrote those words.

If that's what you want to believe, who am I to challenge it? Nothing would change your mind anyway.

What does the poem on the statue of liberty mean to you?

If you don't know it, it goes like this

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Answer :
It was meant to honor the U.S. (from France) for its immigration policies. At that time, we welcomed all to our shores who were seeking freedom from oppression. We had a big country, and not many people compared to today.

However, as nice as it sounds, today we must consider that our country is already teeming with more people than it can rightfully support with jobs etc. Every advancement in technology costs jobs as fewer people are needed to accomplish the same goals. That is why it became necessary to start limiting the number of immigrants that could come in.

Answer :
The Statue of Liberty actually originated based on the Revolution of 1830 in Paris from a Delacroix painting, "Liberty Leading the People". It is the same concept-a struggle for voting rights and freedom from repression.

Answer :
At the time that was written America had yet to be populated. But let's not make the mistake of thinking America has always welcomed legal immigrants. Quite the opposite in many cases. Read the history of the Irish in the USA as one example.

I am going on a cruise on the liberty of the seas, any suggestions about shore excursions?

my stops are San Juan, Labadee and St Martaan, the shore excursions are quite expensive and i don't know if I should book them now before I go or wait until I get on the ship, not sure what would be cheaper. In St Martaan, can we just get off the ship and go for a wander around or do we have to be on an organised tour? The ship is the liberty of the seas, any replies would be appreciated

Answer :
Just cruised on the Liberty this past November. Your itinerary is a good one not to do tours. In San Juan you can actually walk through the old San Juan city area and also Fort Cristobal right from the ship. The only way you need tours is if you want to go to the beach or to the rain forest. The ship should dock right by the twon at the new pier and you can just walk where you want to go.

In St Maarten you'll need to take a water taxi to town (or walk a long few miles). As I remember the water taxi is $4.00 round trip. When you get to town you are just a block off the main shopping street and there are a few casinos there too. If you want to dip your feet in some water there is a beach, very small and not private, right by the town. If you want to find an internet cafe, there's one about a block from the beach, right off main street, fee is only a couple dollars an hour.

Now Labadee is Royal Caribbeans private island and while the tour book will list lots of things to do that require a fee, you can just get off the ship and grab a nice spot on one of the 3 or 4 beaches available on the island (actually a peninsula). They have plenty of chairs and shade trees and there is a craft market on one end of the island. They have a free tram to carry you to the other end of the island if you don't want to walk. About 11:30ish they will have free lunch ready at the pavilion; typical picnic stuff. So just plan to enjoy a day at the beach when you get to Labadee. Bring your own snorkel equipment so you don't have to rent that. Explore on the island.

Answer :
On any cruise ,DON'T BOOK SHORE EXCURSIONS WITH THE SHIP. When you go ashore you will find local people in EVERY PORT that will take you to any shore feature for their location at HALF the price you would pay to the cruise line. You can pick up the various shore excursions across from the purer's office on the ship and pick out what you are interested in, and you will know the cost the ship is asking. When you go ashore offer any of the local tour guides 50% of what the ship is charging.

Answer :
In San Juan, you definitely don't need a tour. You can easily walk around the town. If you get tired, there are free trolleys, running up until 7PM.

You might want to take a tour of St. Martaan. That way you can see the French and Dutch part of the island, and hear about the history, culture, etc. I was there recently, and found an excellent guide at the dock. Don't book a ship excursion. They are always more expensive than what you can get at the dock.

Of course, you do not need an excursion in Labadee. I have not been there. But I understand that you can lie on the beach, and get fed for free.

Hope you have as much fun as I did.

Do You Think Liberty Mutual Meant These Words When They Chose This Song For Their Commercial?

"Half Acre" by Hem

I am holding half an acre
torn from the map of Michigan
and folded in this scrap of paper
is a land I grew in

Think of every town you've lived in
every room you lay your head
and what is it that you remember?

Do you carry every sadness with you
every hour your heart was broken
every night the fear and darkness
lay down with you

A man is walking on the highway
A woman stares out at the sea
and light is only now just breaking

So we carry every sadness with us
every hour our hearts were broken
every night the fear and darkness
lay down with us

But I am holding half an acre
torn from the map of Michigan
I am carrying this scrap of paper
that can crack the darkest sky wide open
every burden taken from me
every night my heart unfolding
my home

Answer :
I doubt the decision-makers ever heard the whole song or listened to the lyrics. The tone of the song is what you pick up in the commercial and it works. I'd seen the commercial at least 30 times before I ever noticed the lyrics.

Thanks for identifying the song!

Answer :
I will vote for Rock Climbing in The crags near Los Angeles and San Francisco. It will be very fun to go there again! Rock climbing can vary in cost. For bouldering you just need a pair of shoes and a pad. Sport climbing will need more technical equipment, traditional climbing will take a lot of more equipment. I can assume you will need 200 bucks to thousands of dollars, depends on how you want to pursue climbing

Answer :
Nice list. As it happens, I've done quite a bit of it. I'm working toward repeating those I most liked.

Except for the travel options, I don't see anything which can't be done in California.

The tallest roller coaster is in Jackson, New Jersey. But since the Statue of Liberty is also a goal, that can be combined (it's in New Jersey, not New York).

Sharks aren't particularly easy to scuba with in California. I've done shark dives in many places in the tropics, and along the west coast. Galapagos is definitely the best of the shark drives.

Swimming with dolphins isn't 100% legal in the U.S., but a trip to Sea World and volunteering can possibly create an opportunity with some in captivity. I swam with wild dolphins in Canada where there is no Marine Mammal Protection Act. It was especially nice when the dolphins chose to swim with me!

You've got several pending trips: Australia, Italy, Acapulco. Germany, Vienna, Egypt, Africa, and China. A cross-country road trip which includes Orlando, Chicago, and New Jersey. Piece of cake. Rome to Vienna to Munich is each an easy day of train travel, or a very quick flight. I've driven it several times, but driving takes so much longer because I can't help stopping for scenic villages along the way.
