3 day water fast for detox:?

I'm currently 27 hours in to a water fast (my doctor is aware of it so please no negative comments on how this is bad for my health), 3 days is perfectly healthy, i took the liberty of discussing it with a health care professional!
I'm not having a bowel movement however, and was wondering if Epsom salt mixed with water or sea salt is better to use as a natural laxative to help speed things along? Also will this upset my stomach as I haven't eaten solid food in 27 hours? I see that you start each morning with sea salt and water on the master cleanse, which is a fast you also don't eat on, so i'm thinking it would be fine.
If you have any experience or knowledge about this i would really appreciate it, thanks :)

Answer :
I did a 3 day water fast about 2 weeks ago. I did not have a bowel movement the entire time. Almost as soon as I started eating again, everything went back to normal. The point of fasting is the give you body a rest from digesting, so everything stops moving for a while.

Answer :
I think drinking in the morning a glass of water with some apple vinagre is very helpful, too. After the detox try to go for another 1-2 days of light food such as vegetable soups or fruit purees. Going back from 0 to 100% I would say upsets any stomach.

Was the Statue of Liberty actually a .....gift * to * .......the French?

The French just ended Napoleonic run control and many other hardships already had befallen the Nation of France as well

Was the actual rendering of "The New Colossus" to mean that By giving the USA this, they were telling their own nation to be like The USA ?

Is that like buying a gift for your husband/wife...... Knowingly that you will get more out of it than would your husband/wife.

.................Statue of Liberty............

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Was it man kinds selfishness or was it a gift of love expressed between man kinds Governments ?

Is God's government to be fulfilled and put an end to all mans Governments?

This is how they wanted their citizenry to feel....
which is not the way folks were feeling about their country at the time period.

"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!

Answer :
If it was, why is the poem in English? I can't imagine the French being interested in "imitating" anything. They have their pride you know.

Answer :

It was a grovelling present to get you to help out for the next time we kicked their ***

Do you think the USA needs a new anthem?

Okay so I'm Australian, and decided to look up the lyrics for the Star Spangled Banner when I couldn't make out what they were singing in a movie (The Stand if you must know).

The lyrics I found (on Wikipedia) were:

O! say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
O! say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

O! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: 'In God is our trust.'
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And a fifth verse that was added for a while "in indignation over the start of the civil war":

When our land is illumined with liberty's smile,
If a foe from within strikes a blow at her glory,
Down, down with the traitor that tries to defile
The flag of the stars, and the page of her story!
By the millions unchained,
Who their birthright have gained
We will keep her bright blazon forever unstained;
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave,
While the land of the free is the home of the brave.

Now to me it was a little I dunno, odd that there was a lot of imagery about war and violence; until I looked a little into the history of the song and it made a lot more sense. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Star-Sp… if you don't know about it.

So what I'm asking is, do you think that in the near future it would be good to, not completely lose the historical allusions in that song, but to maybe modify it to reflect contemporary American culture? Even if just some of the words and the scale was updated so that your average citizen could remember and sing more than the first couple of lines?

For comparison, this is the national anthem we as Australians officially accepted in 1984 after many years of contests and voting and God Save the Queen. I'm not saying it's any better or worse, just that this is what we chose, and it has been modified somewhat.

ADVANCE AUSTRALIA FAIR

Australians all let us rejoice,
For we are young and free;
We’ve golden soil and wealth for toil;
Our home is girt by sea;
Our land abounds in nature’s gifts
Of beauty rich and rare;
In history’s page, let every stage
Advance Australia Fair.

In joyful strains then let us sing,
Advance Australia Fair.

Beneath our radiant Southern Cross
We’ll toil with hearts and hands;
To make this Commonwealth of ours
Renowned of all the lands;
For those who’ve come across the seas
We’ve boundless plains to share;
With courage let us all combine
To Advance Australia Fair.

In joyful strains then let us sing,
Advance Australia Fair.

From http://www.dfat.gov.au/facts/nat_anthem.…

Which may need to be changed soon if our government decides to restrict immigration into this vast country even more, to "we've boundless plains we won't share". Just saying.

Additional Details

No, I understand the history of the song and everything, I was just wondering whether it should be modified to reflect the 200 years of history since then, or to make it so that more people know the words and understand it. It's possible to make it more modern and relevant whilst keeping the cultural heritage.

By the way, if Australia changed its national anthem again, this is the song I'd vote for: http://alldownunder.com/oz-u/songs/i-am-…

Answer :
no way! its like shakespear, it is confusing at first but its art and beautiful once you understand it.besides you cant change something like that. it represents the country

Good point. Maybe it's impossible to have a national anthem that is historical, modern, singable, patriotic, and something that people remember and are happy with. I just thought that 200 years is a lot of history to miss out on...

R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A., Yeah, Yeah!
Rockin' in the U.S.A.

Sung by John Cougar Mellencamp circa 1980's

Answer :
No. They should keep it. If they made a new one it would be like us and u would have to sing it in 2 different languages all the time. Although ours isn't quite as long as theirs.

Answer :
I think our national anthem is beautiful! It really shows what people go through. But if we were to get a new one i think it should be either: Have you forgotten- Daryll Worthley (about 9/11) OR "Proud to be an American" by Lee Greenwood.

"If tomorow all the things were gone,
You'd worked for all your life.
And you had to start again
with just your children and your wife
You'd thank your lucky stars, to be livin here today
Cause' the flag still stands for freedom
And they cant take that away!

(chorus)
And im proud to be an american
where at least i know im free
and i wont forget the men who died
who gave that right to me
and i gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today
cause' there aint no doubt i love this land
god bless the USA

(a lot more words in this song that i didnt feel like typing
You should listen to the song its really pretty.

Answer :
This anthem has been in the American heritage for 200 years. And you Australians think we should change it???? Leave our American history alone!!!

It is the song in our hearts that sing out our freedom and glory! It stands for all the fierce battles of America has fought! Leave the American history alone! This is coming from a true American heart! It is true, our battles were violent!

Get a life! Thanks for the thumbs down! That tells me something!!!

IMAGINE by John Lennon

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Great List! Start working on it and take photos of everything, put them in a book and have it published.

I don't think these are on your list:

Film a movie about a day in your life
Keep a journal, written, photos, drawings, clippings, for a year, everyday without missing a day
Take a photo of yourself every day for a year, put it in an online photo gallery
Visit Disney California Adventure Park (by Disneyland)

Ride in a private plane
Visit the Louvre in Paris, see the Mona Lisa
Visit the Palace of Versailles
Shop on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées
See a Rolling Stones concert
Roller skate or bike on the boardwalk at Venice Beach, CA down to the Santa Monica pier
Walk on the beach at Malibu where the Malibu Colony is and look at all the celebrities, etc homes
Tour Machu Picchu
Tour Boston, including Harvard. Tons to see in Boston, walk the Freedom Trail and have baked beans at Durgin-Park restaurant

Answer :
You've done a good job putting together the list and with all those things to do you should never be bored. I would add one thing to the list and it should keep you busy
for a few years. Make Lists from the list.
From your list, list all the things you can do with the resources you have immediately available. Start doing those things. Make a l ist of the things you could do with a little more effort. and then list the things that require more, If you ever get tired of making lists, you'll have something to do.
